With the recent publication of ANSI/ASB Standard 056, Standard for Evaluation of Measurement Uncertainty in Forensic Toxicology, laboratories are faced with several considerations regarding implementation. Like any standard, there are a variety of ways to implement based on the laboratories scope. This webinar will discuss several approaches to implementation and provide helpful tools to ease the process.
Best Practice Recommendations for Performing Alcohol Calculations in Forensic Toxicology
During this webinar, strategies for the implementation of standards will be presented. Workflows using Qualtrax and other resources will be discussed, together with the challenges faced by forensic science service providers of various sizes and complexity in state, federal and local jurisdictions.
ASTM E2926 is a test method for the Forensic Comparison of Glass Using Micro X-ray Fluorescence (μ-XRF) Spectrometry, first published in 2013, revised in 2017, and most recently in 2025. This test method is published by ASTM International and will be included on the OSAC registry in September. The newest standard test method has been adapted to meet advanced technology in μ-XRF systems and changes in contemporary glass formulations. Join us for an overview of the scientific foundations behind the standard test method, along with practical tips on how it can be effectively implemented in a forensic laboratory.
